5th Annual Small Business Development Day Conference
Somerset, KY- A free regional Small Business Development Day Conference will be presented in Somerset, Kentucky on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at the Center for Rural Development. This conference will provide small businesses and entrepreneurs with training workshops and the opportunity to network with organizations that can assist them with business issues or problems they may be facing. New venture, existing businesses and entrepreneurs can attend the event and any of the sessions that interest them.
This is a collaborative effort to bring together valuable resources from throughout the state to aide area small businesses. The participants will include; EKU Small Business Development Center, U. S. Small Business Administration, Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, Southern and Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development Association, Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Corporation, The Center for Rural Development, and many community businesses.
The program will feature numerous training choices including; Financing, Website Development, Developing a Marketing/Advertising Plan, Contracting with Federal, State and Local Government, Importance of Customer Service, and Using Technology to Improve Your Business. Organizations will have representatives available to speak one-on-one with the entrepreneurs and small business owners.
